CPD with Lyfta
We offer webinars, on-demand courses, and toolkit-based CPD.
1. Webinars
Our webinars are the most popular way to deepen practice with content, curriculum and pedagogy on key topics.
- Live and Recorded Webinars: Throughout the year, Lyfta hosts webinars on key themes such as sustainability, global citizenship, oracy, and more. For your convenience, we provide subscribers access to a range of recorded sessions so you can learn at a time that suits you.
- Lesson-Based CPD: Lyfta's "Critical Documentary Literacy" lesson plan is a unique CPD resource. It not only supports professional development in media literacy and critical thinking but also helps educators maximise the impact of Lyfta in the classroom.
2. On-Demand Courses
Available via the teacher dashboard, these courses provide flexible training opportunities, divided into short, manageable video chapters. They are ideal for individual or group sessions, including INSET days or twilight training. Topics include:
Quality Questioning: Techniques to foster deep, critical thinking and assess students’ understanding.
Assessment for Learning (AfL): Ways to incorporate AfL strategies seamlessly into your Lyfta lessons.
Metacognition and Self-Regulated Learning: Support your students in becoming independent, reflective learners.
Courageous Conversations About Race: Practical guidance for addressing DEIB topics and using Lyfta to respond to global events meaningfully.
3. Toolkit-Based CPD
Lyfta’s toolkits are dual-purpose resources, combining professional development with actionable teaching strategies. Each toolkit is aligned with Lyfta’s Theory of Learning and offers practical classroom activities. Current toolkits include:
